Course Description

Examine the biology, identification and control of weeds in landscapes, turf, field and ornamental nurseries, and aquatic environments. The biology of weed seeds, underground structures, life cycles, and adaptations for spread and persistence will be discussed and tied to opportunities for the management of weeds. Learn the various cultural, mechanical, chemical and potential bio-control methods available, and the impact of environment (weather, weed biology and other management practices) on each method in different situations. You will be provided with a detailed overview of the process of integrating different types of control tactics to manage weeds in a number of horticultural scenarios.
