Course Description

This is an introduction to the content and methods of psychology. It will cover the major areas such as neuroscience, sensation and perception, learning, cognition, motivation, human development, personality, psychopathology and its treatment, and social psychology.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, the learner should be able to:

  1. Identify basic terminology in the core areas of psychology;
  2. Explain how the basic terms are defined in the context of psychological research;
  3. Apply their knowledge to explain specific behaviours beyond the laboratory; and
  4. Analyze critical issues in psychology.
