7000021 - Creative Writing Capstone Project
Course Description
The Creative Writing Capstone Project focuses on what it means to take a creative project beyond a first draft and bring it to fruition. This independent mentoring course will help you enhance your writing style and advance your writing mechanics. You will be matched with an instructor from the Creative Writing Certificate program who will mentor and guide you through the revision process.
The capstone course is delivered over a ten- to fifteen-week period and involves a minimum of five points of contact with your selected mentor, including an initial planning session, writing-focused sessions (beginning, middle, end), and wrap-up and assessment. The course operates outside of the regular semester. It is recommended that you begin your capstone project with a rough draft of your manuscript. Prior to the course start date, you and your mentor will discuss, clarify and make a mutual commitment to the scope, goals, objectives and outcomes of the Creative Writing Capstone Project.
